The Los Angeles Chargers select Oregon’s Justin Herbert with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to replace Philip Rivers.
Following the departure of Philip Rivers, quarterback became a top priority for the Los Angeles Chargers. As the NFL Draft crept closer, the more interchangeable Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa became. Having spent 16 years as the Chargers quarterback, Rivers has left Herbert some big shoes to fill. Striking similarities to Rivers, Herbert likes to move the ball downfield quick-and-in-a-hurry. The signing of Tyrod Taylor warrants the question as to whom will start for the Chargers this season.
Keenan Allen and Mike Williams must be licking their chops as the benefactors of Herbert’s big arm.
