The support from Miami Dolphins fans in hopes for finally finding that elusive franchise QB is at an all-time high. Tua Tagovailoa has both the number 1 and number 2 slots in jersey sales for this season. Dolphins fans can continue to purchase Tagovailoa jersey’s with certainty, he is here to stay; after endorsing his rookie contract.
The Dolphins fifth overall pick has accepted the terms of his rookie contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday. The deal is a four-year, $30.28 million, with a fifth-year option and a signing bonus of $19.6 million- all guaranteed.
These rookie contracts are not as complected as they once were. At one time, the rookies had leverage and would hold out for money, some lasting into training camp. With the last two collective bargaining agreements, the rookie wages have remained relegated to a slotting method. With the financials in order, Tagovailoa can advance onward on his pathway and fulfill the ‘Phins franchise quarterback position.
The Dolphins also signed the second-round draft pick Raekwon Davis. Davis was a teammate of Tagovailoa in the Alabama Crimson Tide team. Other rookies signed are G Soloman Kindley, LS Blake Ferguson, DE Curtis Weaver and, DE Jason Strowbridge.
