No shocker here: the Cincinnati Bengals select former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals select Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The former LSU quarterback has been linked with the Bengals; and has never moved from the number one slot in any mock drafts.

Burrow is coming off possibly the greatest single season in college football history completing a staggering 76.3% of his passes. Tack on 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, and you’ve built yourself a solid resume for NFL teams to review.
The Bengals finished just 2-14 last season, and are in dire need of a new playmaker. Burrow will be that guy for them, and will be a day-one starter. Superstar receiver AJ Green missed the entire season as the team struggled to find any sort of rhythm. Current quarterback Andy Dalton is still on the roster, and as CBS Sports’ John Breech reports, there may only be one team interested in him.

Dalton finished 2019 with the worst season of his career totaling just 3,494 yards, 16 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and a QB rating of 78.3. Everyone expected the Bengals to draft a quarterback, but which one? Tua Tagovailoa was –at one time– the most sought after QB in the draft, before his hip injury. Tagovailoa’s stock dropped with uncertainty around the extent of the injury, but Burrow never faltered.
