National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts has said that players are ready to continue the season as talks intensify on a definitive timeline on when basketball can resume.
Roberts told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne the players “really want to play” but need a level of certainty from the league.
“It’s time. It’s time. I’ts been two and a half months of, ‘What if?’ My players need some level of certainty.”
The NBA has explored several options on how it can continue the season, one of those options being the likelihood of using the Disney Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando as the site for continuing play.
The current NBA season has been on an indefinite hiatus since March 11th due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With practices — somewhat — resuming, the league appears to be headed in the right directions towards a completion of their season.
